jvpAlthough there’s no tech here (next time we’ll be checking out what tech is good enough to take to the new build) hopefully these are functional lists for any individual planning a house move.
We’re managing the entire new build project so far using a Google Sheets multi-tab spreadsheet and the step was no different. Here’s what we had in that tab…
Month before Move
Get in touch with removal company
Finish clearing the loft
Start packing (source cardboard boxes, get bubble wrap & brown tape)
Arrange Electrician to remove EV charger from Garage & inform OLEV
Cancel sky TV (BT, Virgin etc)
Remove ring Doorbell
Remove all Z-Wave, Hue, HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, global Cache, Xantech modules etc
Label switches & Node Zero items for new owners
Arrange with Council for collection of old mattresses & appliances (Tumble Drier)
Remove all CCTV Cameras
Label all keys & Garage Door remotes etc for new owners
Talk to insurance company about moving house contents insurance to new address
Inform BT of step date
Gather manuals into a file for new owners
Create handover paper for new owners, including…
Operating the heating system
Operating Range, washing maker & dish Washer
Print off CAT5 cabling documents
Contact details for various system engineers
Heating Oil / Gas supplier
Solar System grant details
Satellite dish & Cables
Broadband / WiFi / Phone
Data Network details
Order MoonPig welcome card
Week of Move
Arrange for window cleaner to do final clean
Remove hose pipe reel from back door
Remove NAS & Plex Server
Remove Draytek Router & replace with BT’s unit
Remove Unifi WiFi Sytem
Remove Smappee energy monitor & Clamps
Final cut of Grass, remove robot mowers and charging docks.
Post crucial to estate agent ready for completion date
Final deep clean
